One Thousand Children, Inc. (OTC), is holding a special event celebrating the lives of a unique group of Holocaust survivors and their rescuers. This three-day event is part of the Chicago 2002 Living the Legacy – A Gathering of Descendants of Survivors of the Shoah and their families to be held in Chicago June 30 to July 2, 2002. The first ever OTC Reunion will bring together the approximately 1,000 unaccompanied children rescued between 1934 and 1945 by bringing them to the U.S. and placing them with foster families across America. The Reunion will include presentations by scholars and OTC children, rescuers and second gens. OTC children will be assisted to locate, meet and communicate with other OTC children. A single registration process will provide attendees admission to both OTC and other Chicago2002 Living the Legacy – A Gathering of Descendants of Survivors of the Shoah activities.
