Amulet
El Jadida, Morocco, 1918
Silver, cut, cast, engraved

A very large and elaborate hamsah amulet, with the unusual additions of a fish and two small cast hamsot, which make for an almost unique set of decorative symbols. The object is stamped on the back with the silver mark from the city of El Jadida, from which few examples are known. As large as this amulet is, it was till worn from a woman's necklace as a part of her jewelry.
